Frequently asked questions.

  • We'll begin by reviewing the intake forms that you completed prior to the session. I'll ask some questions so I can start getting to know you and we can begin to develop the therapeutic alliance. You are welcome, though not required, to bring in any specific questions, concerns, or goals for treatment.

  • The shape of our sessions can vary based on your needs and what you would like to focus on in therapy. We'll begin from the concerns you bring to session, and I'll ask questions to lead us deeper.

  • When I start with a new client, my recommendation is that we begin with weekly sessions to develop the therapeutic alliance, a sense of safety, and establish treatment goals.

Once we've built some momentum, we may talk about moving to biweekly or other frequencies.

  • Therapy is built to be responsive to your unique needs and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all duration for treatment, and we will collaborate to assess what makes sense for you in your journey.

  • Telehealth can be as effective as therapy in-person; what's most important is being open and engaged in the process.

Telehealth can sometimes be more effective as it allows you to access therapy from places where you aren't typically able to if you need to commute to an office.

  • When you're preparing for a telehealth session, make sure you are somewhere that you feel physically comfortable and that is private so that you are able to open up and be vulnerable.
